On Saturday, November 4th, the early morning damp weather did not stop the Bernal Heights community from celebrating the opening of Paul Revere Elementary's schoolyard. The sun rays eventually hit the schoolyard just in time for a fabulous time! Paul Revere's great yard will be available for the whole neighborhood to use every weekend from here on out.
The opening celebration featured friends and families enjoying our mouth watering tacos while the kids participated in various pastimes such as spin art from STEMful, tag from Playworks, making your own flower crowns with Education Outside, and many other activities held by the organizations that collaborated with us for this event!
This celebration also saw many of our favorite partners including but not limited to SF Youth Soccer and Tenacious Tennis Academy who set up nets and brought rackets so that the kids could polish their tennis skills or dace off with each other with soccer balls.
The Paul Revere PTA also treated attendees with cookie decorating, balloon animals, and face painting! Paul Revere Elementary Principal, Lee Bryan, spoke during the speaker program along with Supervisor Mark Farrell.
Paul Revere Elementary School will be open on the weekends from now on between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The schoolyard will be opened by the San Francisco Recreation and Parks department and cleaned by the San Francisco Department of Public Works.
